What is free and what costs money?
The currency converter and the ATM and exchange finder are always free. The AI Advisor and the Price Scanner give you a couple of free uses, then a single one-time purchase unlocks unlimited use. There is no subscription.
Why does it ask for my location?
Only the Find feature uses it. When you look for nearby ATMs, exchange offices or banks, your location is used to fetch places near you. If you do not use Find, Pawise does not need your location.
Why does it need the camera?
The Scanner reads prices from a photo of a price tag, menu or receipt. The text recognition runs on your device. You can use the rest of the app without the camera.
Is the advice financial advice?
No. Pawise gives general guidance to help you avoid common fees and bad rates. Rates, fees and rules change and vary by bank and location, so always confirm with your own bank and locally before you decide.
How do I restore my purchase on a new phone?
Open the unlock screen and tap Restore Purchase. Your one-time purchase is tied to your Apple ID, so it carries over at no extra cost.
Does it work offline?
The converter keeps the last rates for offline use. Find, the AI Advisor and the Scanner's price reading need an internet connection.

Overview
Pawise ("the app", "we", "us") is a travel money helper. There are no accounts, no ads, and no third-party tracking or analytics. The app sends data to a service only when a feature you use needs it, and only the minimum required. This policy explains exactly what.
What stays on your device
Your conversions, recent scans, currency settings and free-use counters are stored on your device. We do not sync, upload or back them up to our servers.
Location (Find)
When you use Find, your location is sent to Google Places to return nearby ATMs, exchange offices and banks. This is handled under Google's privacy policy. We do not store your location, and we do not track your movements over time.
Camera and photos (Scan)
When you scan, text recognition runs on your device. The photo itself is not uploaded or stored on our servers. To turn the recognised numbers into clean, converted prices, only the detected price text is sent to our processing service.
AI features (Advisor and Scan)
To answer an Advisor question or structure a scan, the minimum necessary text (such as your selected country, the action you chose and where your card is from, or the detected prices) is sent through our server to a third-party AI provider to generate the result. We do not send your name or identity, and your inputs are not used to build a profile of you.
Exchange rates
The converter fetches current rates from a rates provider. This involves no personal information about you.
Purchases
The one-time purchase is processed by Apple through the App Store. We never see or store your payment details.
Analytics and tracking
Pawise includes no third-party advertising or analytics tools. We do not sell data, and we have nothing to sell.
Children
Pawise is a general-audience utility and is not directed at children. It does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.

We may update, change or discontinue features over time.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Pawise and its developer are not liable for any loss or damage arising from use of the app, including money decisions made using its information. It is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.
